Jessica Latta and her partner, Jayden Bailey, had planned the perfect moment. They wanted to capture their engagement during a Christmas cruise, a significant milestone in their lives. But the fairytale quickly turned sour.
The couple, along with their two children, embarked on a Carnival cruise to the South Pacific. On Christmas Eve, at Lifou Island in New Caledonia, Jayden popped the question, and a photographer was there to immortalize the moment.
The photoshoot itself was magical, with the photographer handling the family's excitement and a toddler's tantrums with ease. But the real trouble began when the couple received the edited images.
And here's where it gets controversial. The edits were so poorly done that the family's joy turned to shock. Ms. Latta described the edits as 'horrendous.' The children's faces were distorted, and the hairlines were blurred beyond recognition. But the most shocking of all was the engagement photo, where Jayden's finger, holding the ring, looked like something straight out of Shrek.
The couple had invested $1800 in this photoshoot, selecting 36 unedited images and 15 advanced edits. But the final product was a far cry from their expectations. Despite raising concerns, they received no response from the photographer or Carnival, the cruise company.
To add insult to injury, the unedited photos were also unusable due to technical issues. Ms. Latta feels cheated, stating, 'I waited 10 years for this... We paid a lot of money, and it's just not right.'
